Product overview

TYCO NG-1 nitrogen generators use membrane separation to provide nitrogen for documented dry and preaction sprinkler inerting arrangements and supervisory pressure maintenance. The family includes wall-mounted units with an integral compressor and larger stand-alone generator cabinets that require a suitable separate compressed-air supply. Sizing depends on the largest individual sprinkler system as well as the combined volume, supervisory pressure and leakage of all connected systems. The capacity table describes sprinkler-system volume rather than a nitrogen storage tank or water-flow rating. Its single-system limits use the manufacturer’s stated 30-minute fill basis. Confirm the complete vent, air-maintenance and gas-analysis arrangement and current NG-1 availability before ordering.

Technical specifications

Generator cabinet electrical options 120 V AC single phase / 60 Hz or 230 V AC single phase / 50 Hz; select the correct version
Wall-mounted compressor Integral oil-less air compressor in the documented wall-mounted assembly
Stand-alone compressor Separate correctly sized compressed-air supply; compressor power requirements are separate from the generator cabinet
Stand-alone cabinet current 2 A in TFP1253; this does not include the separate compressor load
Nitrogen/air connection ½ inch NPT female; stand-alone version also has a separate ½ inch NPT female air inlet
Drain connection ¼ inch NPT
Discharge pressure scope Minimum 15 psig; maximum feed-air pressure minus 15 psig, within the documented arrangement
System selection Number of systems, largest single system, cumulative system volume, supervisory pressure and leakage affect sizing
Support equipment Select compatible air-maintenance device, gas analysis and riser vent equipment using the applicable manufacturer instructions
Approval scope The March 2023 sheets reference FM approval and a UL508A industrial control panel; verify the exact supplied model and current project acceptance
Availability and revision NG-1 data is sourced from TFP1251/TFP1253 (March 2023); confirm current supply and revision rather than substituting NG-2 specifications

Applications

Manufacturer-designed nitrogen inerting and supervisory-gas arrangements for compatible dry and preaction fire sprinkler systems. Verify sizing, fill time, leakage, supervisory pressure, ventilation and the current installation requirements for the project.

Selection and project integration

Provide UDCT with the number of sprinkler systems, each system volume, the largest single system, required supervisory pressures, leakage measurements and electrical supply. Confirm the exact NG-1 generator, compressor, vent and maintenance-device configuration. Commissioning must verify fill performance, purge operation, nitrogen quality, supervisory pressure and monitoring signals using the applicable manufacturer procedures.
