Product overview
The VES VF5601 Discovery photoelectric smoke sensor uses an infrared emitter and optical chamber to measure light scattered by smoke. A compatible fire alarm panel receives the processed value and applies the configured response. Five operating modes and drift compensation support the selected detection strategy. The location address remains with the XPERT card in the base, so replacement of a compatible head does not itself require changing the location address.

Applications
Photoelectric smoke detection on compatible addressable systems. Select the response mode, spacing and installation conditions for the expected smoke characteristics and normal environment.
Selection and project integration
Share the fire alarm drawings, equipment schedule, compatible panel platform and cause-and-effect requirements with UDCT. Selection should confirm device protocols, supported interfaces, circuit supervision, power and standby calculations, and the exact enclosure or module arrangement.
Use the current manufacturer documentation to check compatibility, wiring limits, software requirements and approval scope. Commissioning should verify the configured alarm, fault, indication and control functions as part of the complete system. Remote reporting also requires a compatible receiving service and confirmation of local network availability.
